Under 13, no unattended access to Internet
Above all, it is important to remember that under the age of 13, a child should not have unattended access to the Internet or have an account on social networks such as Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, etc.
To secure and limit this access, there are several solutions that can be used together for greater efficiency.

Setting the devices
Even if nothing is more worth than the careful attention of a parent, the first thing to do is to configure Parental Control directly : on the tablet or the notebook.
It is effective for blocking certain content, but also to limit "sensitive" functions such as online shopping!
For devices that run on Android, like TEO tablets , you have to go to the Google Play Store.
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Choose "Menu" in the top left, then "Settings" then "Parental Control".
- Set the button to "On"
- Then you have to create a secret code. This code will allow you to change the settings later.
- Finally, choose the type of content you want to filter.
If the device works with Windows 10, this is the case of the range of notebooks NEO, to access to the setting, go to this page
- Open the "Parameter" menu (gear icon)
- Choose "Windows Security", then "Parental Control Options" and finally "Show Parental Control Settings".
- Then just create a Microsoft account (free) and be guided. Of course, you must not divulge the secret code of your account!
Source filtering
As access to the internet can be done from various devices, to limit access to the source, we can also configure the Internet box of its ISP. All ISPs (Internet Service Providers) have a page detailing the procedure.
Just do a search with "Parental Controls" or "Security Center" followed by the name of your ISP or box.
This method has the advantage of allowing filtering of all connected devices, including that of television channels received by the box, but only at home.
Search engines
Since this is where inappropriate content can be found (including by mistake), search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.) must be configured to block certain results.
An interesting alternative is to install on the device a search engine directly designed for young users.
Additional parental control software
In addition to the previously mentioned settings, you can install on device specific applications, free or paid. These applications can filter certain sites or content, act as a timer to limit the time spent or to choose time slots. Finally, it can also be used to see the sites that have been consulted.
Although this is easier said than done, surveillance should not be used as a pretext for conflict but for dialogue with children and teens.
You should also access selected free or paid parental control software and applications that are updated regularly.

The best parental control is a parent!
Children and teens live in their world. It is important to point out that social networks are also frequented by adults with whom they would not want to be friends "in real life".
An opportunity to remind them that what is being said and shown on the Internet is not always the truth.
If they use social networks, do not let them give their real name, age, address, phone or any information to identify them, even if the site requires it to register.
This will require dialogue and mutual trust because social networks are primarily business enterprises without qualms that feed precisely on this type of information.
In case of problem:
There is for children and teenagers a free telephone service that allow them to speak anonymously about problems they may encounter in their use of the Internet.
