Home automation
A real impact on your bills!
Transforming your home into a connected space is the goal of home automation, and that's what the new Thomson “At Home” product range offers: different devices that make up a home automation environment without boxes, through a simple Wi-Fi connection. And this is enough to revolutionize the daily lives of users in many ways. One obviously would think of all programmable routines to save time, the bulbs that light up following an instruction from your smartphone or remotely adjustable heaters. But beyond the practical aspect, the financial benefit of such a home automation installation is also important to consider.
Because, yes, home automation can allow you to achieve significant savings, enough to have a visible impact on your monthly bills, and cumulated to a full year, it can go up to almost 10% savings. And to get there, there is little effort to make, as often is the case with home automation. Here are some practical examples to prove it, smartphone in hand, with the Thomson “At Home” app installed!

Save on heating
By equipping your radiators or your boiler with “At Home” heating modules, you can save a lot of energy. Indeed, with the Cali-P, Cali-On and Cali-B WiFi modules, you have permanent control over the temperature of the different rooms of the house and you can adjust them as needed. It is not necessary that the radiators in the bedroom, bathroom or kitchen be turned on, all day. This is also the case of the living room radiator, which does not have to be fully switched on when you spend the day in the office! With heating modules, you can program daily routines on your radiators. This makes it possible to heat only a little, or not at all, when the rooms are empty, and to program a rise in temperature at the appropriate moment. You can make sure that the radiators start heating only when you leave work, or that the radiator in the bathroom is turned off at night.
Better temperature control necessarily reduces energy consumption in your home. It means savings for a significant part of the year, so why not?
Close and open shutters at the appropriate time
Even if your home is well insulated, you can optimize the use of your shutters through home automation. Manually, you can close all the shutters of your home directly from your smartphone, and thus save time in this task that we tend to push back at night, when fatigue is felt. And, again, using an Access “At Home” Wi-Fi Control Module, you can create shutter opening and closing routines. You can even combine them with those associated with heating: lowering the shutters while turning off the room radiators can help keep the heat inside, and strengthen the financial benefit of this approach.

Never forget to turn off the light
Are you rather careless about switching off lights? Going on a weekend, or on vacation, forgetting to turn off the light in the living room or kitchen, it is useful to simulate a presence, but it is moderately effective in the middle of the day, and most importantly, it is not at all credible if the light remains on all night! By installing connected Diane LED bulbs from the Thomson “At Home” range, you have the possibility of switching off the active lights remotely and programming routines if you wish. LED bulbs are already much cheaper than conventional light bulbs, but making sure you can turn them off wherever you are, thanks to Wi-Fi and the “At Home” application, you have the certainty of never wasting electricity, and therefore, money.
And if you are also the type of person not to turn off standing lamps, you can connect them to Plug-I connected jacks: this allows you to turn off the power remotely. Therefore, You really do not have any excuses anymore!
Turn off completely devices which are in standby mode
The power consumption of devices in standby mode may seem insignificant, but when you multiply their number in the house by the number of hours you do not use them, the bill can be much higher than you could believe it. So, to stay on top of things, the best solution is still to disconnect completely the devices that are off, to avoid any consumption at all in standby mode. Does this task discourage you? You already think about when it will be necessary to reconnect everything? We cannot blame you. But the solution is as simple as for the standing lamps: the use of a connected plug makes it possible to deactivate the power supply of the device, just with an instruction sent by your smartphone, and to reactivate it again quite as easily!
If you want to turn off several devices at once, you can connect a power strip to a connected socket: a way to save on the number of Plug-I modules to acquire, in addition to reducing the actions in the application. And that's all !
The Thomson “At Home” home automation is therefore an asset of choice to save money all year round, all with a minimum of effort. There are therefore many excellent reasons to equip yourself right now!
